JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — November 10, 2025 — For over 140 years, American service members, veterans, their families and caregivers have counted on the American Red Cross to help prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of military service. As the nation celebrates Veterans Day, we join in the heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country with unwavering dedication and courage.
Their service to this country inspires over 4,000 Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) employees and volunteers across the U.S., with more than 500 in the North and Central Florida Region.
“At the Red Cross, our support for veterans and military communities isn’t just one day; it’s every day,” said retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Gregory C. Scrivens, Regional Program Director, American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces & International Services. “We recognize that veterans and their families enrich our communities with their deep commitment to service, and we are here to give back to those who have given so much with programs that care for their humanitarian needs.”
Today, the Red Cross is embracing a whole health model to care for and comfort members of the nation’s military, veterans, their families and caregivers. Some of these programs include behavioral health and wellness workshops, hospital and clinic support programs, the provision of care, comfort and therapy items, and a peer support network for caregivers.
This Veterans Day – and during National Veterans and Military Families Month this November – the Red Cross is inviting community members to turn their appreciation into action. Here are two ways to help:
