The American Red Cross opened a shelter at Hanalei Elementary (5-5415 Kuhio Hwy, Hanalei, HI 96714) in Hanalei for residents evacuated from their homes due to flooding on Monday afternoon at 3:30pm.  The shelter closed around 11pm after the Hanalei Bridge was opened again.  13 people registered at the shelter and were able to return to their homes once the bridge reopened.
