The American Red Cross of Hawaii held an event called “Climate Change - Disaster Preparedness & Response in Hawaii” on September 26, 2019 at The Bankers Club, graciously hosted by First Insurance Company of Hawaii.  This event was held in recognition of our Red Cross Corporate Partners, Hawaii businesses that stand together with the American Red Cross in our mission to provide help, hope, and healing to thousands of people every year.

Speakers who shared information on climate change included:

• Dr. Charles “Chip” Fletcher, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, at the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences and Technology, University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is also the Vice Chair of the Honolulu Climate Change Commission.
• Josh Stanbro, Honolulu’s Chief Resiliency Officer and Executive Director of the Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency.
