HONOLULU, HI: 9/14/2020 — Eleven volunteers from the American Red Cross of Hawaii are deploying to help with the Red Cross response to the Western Wildfires of Washington, Oregon, and California.  Seven of the volunteers will assist virtually and four are traveling to affected areas.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to families affected by the Western Wildfires, which have already forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate their homes and created some of the worst air quality in the world. To assist, eleven volunteers from the Hawaii Red Cross are being deployed. To maintain COVID safety, seven are assisting virtually in logistics, resource call center calls, and lodging. Due to the pressing need, four volunteers will travel to affected areas to help with mental health and sheltering.
