– Erin Shank is a courageous local woman and an ovarian cancer survivor. The tumor inside of her made her anemic and blood transfusions were one of the things that helped. Over the course of her treatment, Erin received multiple units of blood to give her strength.
Now as a triumphant survivor and for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month this September, Erin and her family are encouraging the community and local people to come out and give blood so that it is there for the next person who needs it. Having a family support system was part of Erin’s journey, and now her family is encourgaging the Tampico community to be the support system for others going through medical treatments and hope many people come out to this inagural blood drive In Honor of Erin Shank.
