This year the 2020 Heritage Award posthumously honors R. Scott Falk, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he served for almost 30 years in mergers/acquisitions and corporate governance law. Scott is being remembered for his generosity, dedication and philanthropic work in the community.
Scott was a visionary philanthropist who was dedicated to many organizations. He was a board member and Chair of the Chicago Humanities Festival and created the framework for their strategic plan. He also served on the Leadership Council at Harvard Law School.
Scott propelled the Chicago & Northern Illinois Region into a position of leadership within the American Red Cross organization. He chaired the Chicago Heroes Breakfast committee, driving it to become one of the most successful fundraising events in Chicago. His humility, generosity, and passion are unmatched. It is a great privilege to honor the legacy of a beloved colleague, who truly had an immeasurable impact.
