Volunteer disaster responders with the American Red Cross of Illinois River Valley responded to a multi-unit apartment fire on North Broadway on the evening of July 21 in Joliet.
The American Red Cross helped a total of 76 individuals, including 47 adults and 29 children with temporary housing, financial support, health and mental health services, information about recovery services, and hydration support including snacks and water on scene. Members of the disaster response team were onsite helping individuals impacted by the fire from approximately 11 p.m. last night to 6 a.m. this morning, assisting families displaced from their homes.
