The American Red Cross Serving South Central Illinois is proud to announce that Dr. Myto Duong has joined its board of directors.
Board members are chosen based on their commitment to the Red Cross mission in combination with their individual expertise, experience and willingness to serve the needs of the board.
Since moving to Springfield in 2008, Dr. Duong has worked for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Southern Illinois University, where she was recently given the title of Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She has duo board certifications in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She primarily works for St. John’s Hospital Emergency Department and enjoys using her experience to assist her team and educate others.
Dr. Duong plans to carry this energy toward her focus on pediatric emergency care and disaster preparedness while serving the Red Cross.
“Dr. Duong brings extensive medical experience to our board. Her work aligns with our Red Cross mission and we are excited to have her on our board of directors,” Dawn Morris, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Serving South Central Illinois said.
The volunteer board includes civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds that serves people in 31 counties in South Central Illinois.
