The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago is proud to announce the addition of members to its board of directors; Laura Linger and Louis Hobson.
“The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago has a long-standing reputation for tapping leaders in the civic and professional community to complement our board of directors, said Celena Roldán, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of Illinois. “We’re thrilled to welcome Louis back to the board and together with Laura are excited to welcome their passion for diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace and in society. These are values that are at the core of the American Red Cross. Both are business leaders that bring with them expertise and insight to help us to better deliver our mission,” said Roldán.
Louis Hobson is the Senior Vice President of North America Flood Insurance for Chubb Insurance, LTD, a publicly traded property and casualty insurance company. Mr. Hobson is also a Member of the Board of Knight-Swift (NYSE: KNX), one of North America’s largest and most diversified freight transportation companies.
From 2017 through 2018, Mr. Hobson served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of National Flood Services, a provider of business process services in flood insurance. From 2015 through 2017, Mr. Hobson served as Executive Vice President of Aon National Flood Services, a financial service and insurance company. From 2017 – 2018, Mr. Hobson was a member of the board of the American Red Cross of Chicago and Northern Illinois. From 2004 to 2013, Mr. Hobson held many roles, including Principal, with the Boston Consulting Group, a management consulting firm, where he served as an advisor to C-suite executives of Fortune 500 companies, providing counsel on a wide range of topics, including competition, growth, turnaround, and talent. Mr. Hobson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Business Administration, both from Stanford University.
Laura Linger is a Partner in Private Wealth Management at William Blair and has spent her career in leadership and client facing roles with high-net worth individuals and their families, coordinating their professional services in investments, philanthropy, lending, and financial planning. Prior to joining William Blair, she was a Senior Vice President and Division Head in LaSalle’s Wealth Management Group. Her many community activities include Board Member of the Chicago Botanic Garden, Friends of Prentice Hospital, and American Red Cross Tiffany Circle, Investment Committee Member for Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a Co-Founder of the national organization Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Alliance (WLMA) and a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange. Laura formerly served on the Board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, Winnetka Public Schools Foundation, Center for Ethics and Corporate Policy and completed an appointed term in 2003 as the first Chairperson of the Advisory Board for Women by the State of Illinois Treasurer, Judy Barr Topinka. She is named one of the Top Women of Wealth by Forbes Magazine in both 2021 and 2022, and Barron's has recognized her accomplishments as a Top Advisor in State in 2022. She holds an ABA from the University of Delaware Stonier Graduate School of Banking and a B.S. from Calvin University.
The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago volunteer board includes more than 30 civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds for the Greater Chicago chapter that serves 7.7 million people in 5 counties.
