Kick off summer the right way and help patients in need! The American Red Cross and Six Flags theme parks are teaming up to encourage blood donors to give now. Those who come to donate blood or platelets at select blood drives this summer will receive a free ticket or be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a 5-pack of tickets to a Six Flags theme park of their choice, while supplies last.
Please visit RedCross.org/SixFlagsDrives to find participating blood drives and schedule an appointment using the sponsor code or zip code listed. For individuals giving at drives denoted with an asterisk, donors will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a 5-pack of tickets rather than receive an individual ticket.
Those who come to give May 18-31, 2026, will receive an oversized Red Cross beach towel, while supplies last.
Some of the best summer moments come from giving back. Every day, volunteer blood donors are needed to help save lives, and the Red Cross must collect more than 12,000 blood donations for patients at hospitals nationwide. Blood donations help ensure new parents, cancer patients and accident victims have access to save, lifesaving blood.
How to donate blood
Donors can visit RedCrossBlood.org, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or learn more information about blood donation. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive. To get started, follow the instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App.
