Donate Blood at the Annual Henderson Holiday Heroes Blood Drive
Become a Hero for Patients in Need
Become a Hero for Patients in Need
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They don’t wear capes or special suits, and their badge of honor is the bandage that shows they gave the gift of life.
The community is invited to become a hometown hero and answer the call of patients in need by donating blood on Monday, December 2nd from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Henderson, located at 100 S. Main Street in Henderson, Kentucky.
To schedule an appointment, please visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code HendersonHero or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Healthy individuals are needed every day to maintain an adequate blood supply for patients in need. Record-breaking November travel is expected to carry into the new year, which could cause some potential donors to put off blood donation until after the holiday season. In addition to millions of Americans traveling to spend holidays with loved ones, extended vacations are also surging in popularity at a time when fewer people may be available to give lifesaving blood products.
To celebrate 30 years of the iconic show FRIENDS, the American Red Cross is asking donors to gather their crew and make donating blood a tradition during the season of giving! Pair up with loved ones and share the gift of life.
Those who come to give Nov. 18-Dec. 8, 2024, will get two pairs of custom FRIENDS + Red Cross socks, while supplies last. Keep a pair, gift a pair to a friend! For details, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Friends.
The Henderson Holiday Heroes Blood Drive is supported by Eyewitness News WEHT/WTVW.
