The Greater Indianapolis Chapter of the American Red Cross is proud to announce the addition of a new member to the board of directors, Amber M. Williams, M.A.
Amber M. Williams currently serves as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging (DEB) for the statewide Ivy Tech Community College system. She leads a team that sets and executes the college’s vision and strategic plan for DEB across its 19 campuses, and is passionate about educating, training, and facilitating meaningful dialogue around diversity, psychology, and workplace behaviors.
“It is with great excitement that we welcome Amber to our board of directors. Her professional expertise will help us strengthen the delivery of the Red Cross products and services to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve,” stated Terry Stigdon, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross Indiana Region.
For over 13 years, Amber has served Ivy Tech in prior roles such as the statewide Executive Director for Employee Diversity, Equity, and Belonging, a full-time faculty member of Psychology, program chair for Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s faculty advisor for Ivy Tech Community College - Kokomo.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Evangel University, a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University and serves as a board member for the non-profit organization - Foster Success.
The American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis’ volunteer board includes more than 25 civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds, and it serves five counties across the Greater Indianapolis area. The board is led by Chairperson Genevieve G. Shaker of Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
