There’s no better way to shake off the winter cold than by making a heartwarming blood donation. Purdue University will battle other universities across the conference to be #1. Help Purdue collect the most blood during this challenge!
Blood is a perishable product that can only come from generous volunteers. By donating blood, individuals can make a difference in the lives of patients in their community and throughout the nation.
Right now, the American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in nearly 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.
Blood donors with all blood types are encouraged to make an appointment to give. Schedule your appointment today at redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: Purdue. You can also, call
1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or use the Blood Donor App.

The winter months can be especially difficult to collect enough blood and platelets to meet patient needs. Inclement weather can result in blood drive cancellations, and seasonal illnesses, like the flu, can prevent some donors from making or keeping appointments to give.
