Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of dying in a home fire by half. To help keep local families safe, the Southwest Chapter of the Indiana Region Red Cross is partnering with the Henderson Fire Department to install free smoke alarms in Henderson East End on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers will gather at Bodega Market, 207 Letcher St., Henderson, Kentucky.

Community Volunteers Needed
The Red Cross is inviting community members to join their volunteers and the Henderson Fire Department for this important safety effort. In addition to installing free smoke alarms, volunteers will talk with residents about home fire safety and help families create escape plans. Training will be provided before teams head out into the community.
