Red Cross workers were on the scene of the giant apartment fire at Plumwood Terrace in Urbandale Monday evening.
Our volunteers worked side by side with the Salvation Army to provide comfort care including blankets and food donated by Casey's, B-Bop's and Panera to displaced residents.
33 occupied units were effected by the fire. As of Tuesday morning everyone had friends or family to stay with. The Red Cross will continue to provide assistance as needed in the coming days as effected residents figure out their next steps.
If you would like to help the Red Cross during this busy fire season across the state of Iowa, please donate at redcross.org.
