DETROIT (Aug. 9, 2022) – To help address a constant need for blood, the American Red Cross Michigan Region and Little Caesars Arena are inviting donors to their fifth annual blood drive from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.
Eligible donors who roll up their sleeves to donate will each receive a pair of ticket vouchers to redeem for any Detroit Tigers home game of their choice in September. Donors also can Spin the Wheel to win an additional giveaway, which include autographed memorabilia, concert tickets and more.
The blood drive will be held on the Via Concourse at Little Caesars Arena, 2645 Woodward, in Detroit.
The Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage as hospitals continue to face uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other ongoing issues.
“The need for blood is constant. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion,” said Beth Frahm, donor recruitment account manager with the Red Cross Michigan Region. “We are thrilled to again partner with the Ilitch organization to ensure blood products are available to those in need.”
Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control. To schedule an appointment download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) and use sponsor code LCA313.
