DETROIT (April 18, 2023) – It’s National Volunteer Month and one way to give back to your community is as a volunteer blood donor.
For the second time this year, the American Red Cross teams up with longtime partner Gardner White to host blood drives at 11 furniture store locations in the metro Detroit area and Saginaw.
The blood drives will be held from 11 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, and Thursday,
April 27. Donors will each receive a $50 coupon toward a Gardner-White purchase of $399 or more and be entered into a drawing for a $500 Gardner-White gift certificate to be awarded at each store.
Each year, more than 2.3 million volunteer blood and platelet donors help save lives with the Red Cross.
“One of the easiest ways to volunteer is by rolling up your sleeve to give blood, platelets or plasma to meet the needs of hospital patients,” said Jamila Wilson, a Red Cross donor recruitment account manager. “With a little bit of time and your blood, you may be able to save a life. It's a simple act with a big impact.”
To schedule an appointment, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) and use sponsor code gardnerwhite.
