KALAMAZOO (Dec. 11, 2025) – The American Red Cross invites donors to make an appointment to give blood at its signature holiday blood drive in Kalamazoo that reaches a major milestone this year.
The Holiday Blood Drive on Wednesday, Dec. 24, will mark the 40th year of the blood donation event that has been consistently supported by volunteer donors to help those who depend on lifesaving blood. Donation appointments are available from 7 a.m. –
1:45 p.m. at the Radisson Plaza Hotel, 100 W. Michigan Ave.
The hustle and bustle of the holidays, coupled with winter weather and seasonal illnesses like the flu, can lead to lower donor turnout this time of the year and make it tougher to keep sufficient blood products on hospital shelves. A strong blood supply is critical to ensuring people have access to lifesaving blood when they need it.
“December is National Month of Giving, and your Red Cross blood donation can help support lifesaving care,” said Raul Galvan, executive director of the Red Cross
Southwest Michigan Chapter.
For a limited time, those who come to give through Dec. 18 will receive a $15 Amazon Gift Card by email. Those who come to give Dec. 19 – Jan. 4, will receive an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt, while supplies last.
To schedule an appointment, use the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Use code HolidayKalamazoo.
