DETROIT (Jan. 2, 2026) – Start the new year by resolving to give blood and help save lives.
The American Red Cross kicks off National Blood Donor Month in January with a two-day blood drive with longtime partner Gardner White Furniture on Tuesday, Jan. 6, and Thursday, Jan. 8. Blood drives will be held at Gardner White stores in southeast Michigan, Saginaw, and new locations in Cadillac and Mt. Pleasant.
The month of January is often a challenging time for the Red Cross to collect blood products to meet the needs of patients, especially after a busy holiday season and winter weather. Donors of all types – especially those with types O, A negative and B negative blood – are urged to give.
Donors who come in to give will each receive a $50 coupon toward a Gardner White purchase of $399 or more and be entered to win a $500 Gardner White gift certificate.
In addition, donors who give now through Jan. 25 will be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California.
The winner of the Super Bowl LX tickets and their guest will enjoy access to day-of in-stadium pre-game activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare, three-night hotel accommodations (Feb. 6 – 9), plus a $1,000 gift card for expenses. For more details visit RedCrossBlood.org/SuperBowl.
Donors can also give at other Red Cross blood drives or Red Cross blood donation centers in Michigan for the Super Bowl getaway.
Here are three ways to make an appointment to donate. For the Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 Gardner White blood drives, use code gardnerwhite.
Red Cross blood drives are being held at these Gardner-White locations:
Tuesday, Jan. 6, 11:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 8, 11:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
