Dorothy Lindsay of Piedmont, MO stepped into the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) with quiet determination, seeking support after her home was devastated by a tornado earlier this year.
Now navigating the aftermath on her own, Dorothy is drawing on the strength she didn’t know she had.
Her parents, who were with her during the storm, suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized. They are currently in rehabilitation, leaving Dorothy to recover alone.
At the MARC, Disaster Spiritual Care volunteer Greg Gooch listens as Dorothy recounts the harrowing night. With compassion and calm, the retired minister offers words of comfort and reassurance.
“I was kind of afraid to come here because I thought I would need a bunch of documents and stuff,” Dorothy admits. “But everyone is really just here to help.”
