Eminence, Emi for short, is a vibrant, energetic, 6-year-old girl. Living with low-verbal autism, Emi does not have many words but loves to sing in Spanish and make new friends.
This little girl’s fight against leukemia has become something bigger than a diagnosis. It is a testament to her courage, the power of community, and the lifesaving impact of strangers who choose to give. “From the very first blood transfusion, I remember thinking we were so lucky, so grateful to have clean, tested blood products available for her,” Katie, Emi’s mom shared. “Ever since the first one, which was maybe 10 months ago, I’ve had so much gratitude for donors because they are literally saving our little girl.”
