To round out Home Fire Prevention Week, the South Metro Fire Department, Twin Cities Red Cross and community partners will be installing free smoke alarms, helping families develop personalized fire escape plans, and sharing vital safety information in West St. Paul and South St. Paul on Monday, October 16 from noon – 5:00 p.m., 2023.
“Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half,” said Terry Johnson, South Metro Deputy Fire Chief. “We’re proud to partner with the Red Cross to help Sound the Alarm about the dangers of homes fires and take action to make our communities safer.”
