Central & Northern New York Chapter
Together, these chapters serve a population of more than 3.6 million people across 27 counties and more than 51,000 square miles. The region operates with the support of a small group of paid staff and 1,725 dedicated volunteers.
For more than a century, people across Eastern New York have been able to depend on the Red Cross to provide relief for disaster victims, health and safety training, support for members of the military and a safe and stable blood supply.
Responded to 683 local disasters. Provided relief to nearly 1,400 families affected by fires, floods, and other emergencies.
880 Free Smoke Alarms. We visited 1,227 local homes to offer lifesaving resources and fire safety education.
Prepared 2,404 people. We offered free disaster training programs to help adults and children prepare for emergencies.
Served 2,330 Military Families. We provided more than 8,000 case services to aid local veterans, service members, and their families.
Trained 35,526 people. We taught lifesaving skills including CPR, first aid, water safety and babysitting.
Collected 106,181 blood donations. We collected lifesaving bloodproducts to support areahospitals and patients in need.
