Hudson Valley Chapter of the Red Cross to Hold Open House Nov. 14
The Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding an Open House on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. to celebrate their new humanitarian offices at 365 Meadow Avenue in Newburgh. The Hudson Valley Chapter serves the communities of Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, and Putnam counties.
“We are thrilled to invite the community to our open house at our new offices and learn more about the Red Cross and ways to join and partner with us,” said Hudson Valley Chapter Executive Director John Vale. “Our new office will be a vibrant hub to support the critical mission of the Red Cross. We are also thrilled to celebrate the generosity of our partner CDPHP.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn hands-only CPR beginning at 2 p.m. followed by an unveiling of the newest addition to the Red Cross Biomedical Services fleet, made possible through the generous support of CDPHP, at 2:30 p.m. “CDPHP and the American Red Cross have enjoyed a longstanding partnership spanning nearly two decades and we are now honored to be able to assist in the purchase of a new blood van for the Hudson Valley region,” said CDPHP Chief Growth Officer Nick Kraft. “The van will transport lifesaving blood products to area hospitals from blood drives across the region, ensuring that hospitals have a sufficient blood supply to support their patients. CDPHP is proud to play a role in this vital work being done by the Red Cross in the communities we call home.” Every two seconds someone needs blood and the Red Cross supplies 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply.
The open house will conclude with light refreshments and networking opportunities with volunteers and community partners from 3-5 p.m. including, a visit from our Service to the Armed Forces Animal Visitation Team therapy dogs.
