Park It at the New York State Fair with the American Red Cross!

Volunteers Needed!

Wednesday, August 21 - Monday, September 2

We are so excited to return to the New York State Fair with one of our most important fundraising events of the year! Help raise thousands of dollars for the unstoppable mission of the American Red Cross by volunteering your time at the Red Cross parking lot.

With over 400 shifts available, including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, there are plenty of opportunities for volunteers to support this event. For each shift worked, volunteers will receive complimentary parking on the day of your shift and a complimentary fair admission ticket to be used on a day of your choosing!

*Signing up for two shifts in a row on a single day is discouraged. If you would like to work two shifts on the same day, please select the morning and evening shifts.

Directions to the Red Cross State Fair Parking Lot

The American Red Cross Parking Lot is a CASH ONLY lot. Parking tickets can not be purchased in advance. Thank you for your donation to the American Red Cross.

The New York State Fairgrounds is immediately adjacent to Route 690, just West of Syracuse. It is easily accessible from the New York State Thruway (Route 90) from the West and East, and from Route 81, North and South. Just follow the signs to the Fairgrounds once you enter the Syracuse area.

Parking Lot Directions from the East 

Follow I-690 West to Exit 7. On the exit ramp, keep left. At the end of the ramp, turn left. Follow the road under the I-690 overpass, and then to the right. You will see the Crucible Industries plant and Byrne Dairy on your left and the parking lot will be on your right. Follow State Fair Boulevard to the traffic light at the Red Cross parking lot entrance. Look for the Red Cross signs and volunteers. Pull into the Red Cross parking lot entrance (even if the sign says “Full”), identify yourself as a parking lot volunteer and park your car. Walk over to the RV and ask for the Shift Captain. The Shift Captain will provide you with safety equipment and instructions on what to do next.  

 

Parking Lot Directions from the West 

Follow I-690 East to Exit 7. On the exit ramp, keep left. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto State Fair Boulevard. Follow State Fair Boulevard to the traffic light at the Red Cross parking lot entrance on your left. The Crucible Industries plant and Byrne Dairy will be on your right. Look for the Red Cross signs and volunteers. Pull into the Red Cross parking lot entrance (even if the sign says “Full”), identify yourself as a parking lot volunteer and park your car.
