Volunteers from the American Red Cross will be opening a shelter open at the David F. Gantt Center, 700 North Street in Rochester, to provide families without electricity or otherwise displaced after today’s high winds with a safe, warm place to stay, food and water and other essential services. The shelter is scheduled to be open by 8pm Wednesday, and the Red Cross will continue working with emergency officials and keep the shelter open as long as it is deemed necessary. Anyone in need of assistance can come to the shelter or call the Greater Rochester Chapter at 585-241-4400.
