Join us for the Battle of the Badges blood drive!
Asheville’s first responders are facing off for a lifesaving cause. Local heroes are rolling up their sleeves—and encouraging the community to do the same—as they vie for the most pints donated at the 12th annual Battle of the Badges blood drive.
The Asheville Fire Department, Asheville Police Department, Buncombe County Emergency Medical Service, Buncombe County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol will build camaraderie while encouraging blood donations in honor of their respective agencies. Donors at the blood drive will vote for their favorite first responders before they donate, and the winner is announced at the end of the drive.
More donors are needed to make appointments now to help ensure accident victims, cancer patients and new mothers experiencing complicated childbirths have access to lifesaving blood product transfusions without delay.
TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, click the button below or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
All presenting donors at the blood drive will receive a $10 Amazon gift card via email, Challenge Coin and local refreshments, courtesy of area restaurants.
Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and additional precautions – including face masks for donors and staff, regardless of vaccination status – have been implemented to help protect the health of all those in attendance. Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arriving at the drive.
