The American Red Cross offers a variety of event services and presentations. Our volunteers, programs and services reach thousands of people with disaster preparedness materials and other lifesaving information.

Our corporate volunteer program, Ready When the Time Comes (RWTC), is designed to tap into corporate America’s expertise and desire to help people in need. The American Red Cross trains employees from partnering corporations and mobilizes them as a community-based volunteer force when disaster strikes.

We collect blood every day from donors who help ensure a safe supply of blood when it’s needed.

We offer training in first aid, CPR/AED, swimming and water safety, care giving and more.

The Service to the Armed Forces program dates back to the establishment of the American Red Cross by Clara Barton in May 1881. Not only did the “Angel of the Battlefield” risk her life tending to soldiers wounded in the Civil War, she bolstered their morale by writing letters for them to send to their families. Today’s American Red Cross workers proudly carry on this tradition through our military support programs.

The American Red Cross is launching a nationwide campaign to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25% over the next five years through the Home Fire Preparedness Safety Campaign.
