John Huckaby, Chapter Executive
John Huckaby, Executive Director, has 25 years’ experience in the non-profit sector including service in governmental, community, and faith-based organizations. His areas of focus have been providing compassionate care for persons with chronic illnesses, housing assistance for those at risk for homelessness, substance abuse prevention and intervention services, and intensive case management and community referrals.
Huckaby also has been deeply involved in strategic planning, community partnerships, and fund development to align philanthropic interests with strategic interventions to address community needs. He joined American Red Cross in December 2017 where he served as Regional Philanthropy Officer for the 51-county service area of the Texas Gulf Coast Region.
Huckaby is passionate about mission delivery – caring for our nation’s military heroes, providing life-saving relief and recovery in the face of emergencies and natural disasters, maintaining about 40% of the nation’s blood supply, training adults and youth in First Aid, CPR, AED, aquatics safety, and emergency preparedness, and supporting international relief and development efforts with our partners worldwide. This mission is only achievable by the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Huckaby is grateful for the hundreds of volunteers in Northeast Oklahoma who donate thousands of hours of their time each year and for the generosity of so many who make mission delivery possible. He invites you to join us as we seek to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies throughout the 18-county service area of Northeast Oklahoma.
