Mike Mlynek, Executive Director
Mike Mlynek is the Executive Director for the South Central & Southeast Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross. Mike joined the Red Cross in August 2017.
As a fourteen-year non-profit executive, Mike has extensive experience in developing and leading programs and initiatives while instituting system-wide, effective operations. Prior to employment with Red Cross, Mike held several positions within the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and most recently as a Business Development Manager with Tulsa Community Work Advance.
Mike holds degrees in Business Management along with Zoology from Oklahoma State University, and was very active on campus serving as a Resident Assistant and Student Government Association Senator as well as many programs, committees and activities. Before starting his non-profit career, Mike worked as a political campaign manager and served as a political intern for Sen. James Inhofe.
Mike’s involvement with the American Red Cross goes back with this Chapter as a high school student when as a past Quartermaster Sea Scout he received his First Aid/CPR, Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor training from the then Mid-Central Chapter in Shawnee.
Mike and his wife Jennifer Mlynek live in Prague with their three children Jayden, Emmary and Maryiah and spend their free time trying to keep up with their school, sports and other activities.
With a craving for community service, meeting and helping others Mike is committed to serving the mission of the American Red Cross. In collaboration and concert with staff, volunteers, donors and partners, he strives to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
