Central PA Holidays for Heroes 2025

Spread holiday cheer and messages of thanks to Pennsylvania’s veterans by participating in the American Red Cross of Central Pennsylvania’s Holidays for Heroes program. Every year, we invite individuals, schools, organizations and community groups to submit signed holiday cards for veterans across the commonwealth.

These heartfelt messages are delivered to Pennsylvania veterans in December, helping to spread joy and gratitude during the holiday season. Holidays for Heroes offers a meaningful way for the civilian community to connect with Pennsylvania’s veterans and share cheer and appreciation with those who have served.

How to Participate

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re signing as an individual or with a group. Invite your friends, family, colleagues or community organizations to join you in sending holiday wishes to Pennsylvania veterans.

To ensure cards are appropriate for all recipients, please follow these guidelines:

Sign with first names only – no last names or personal contact information
You may include school or organization names
Do not include addresses, phone numbers or email addresses
Do not include cash or gift cards
Please avoid cards with excessive amounts of glitter or confetti
Envelopes are not required. If included, please leave it unsealed
Messages should be heartfelt and sincere, but appropriate for all audiences. Consider including a message of thanks, a personal message or wish for a joyous holiday season
