If you would like to help the SC Red Cross Volunteer Management Team in the event of a large-scale disaster with activities related to the processing and managing of Disaster Event-Based Volunteers (DEBVs), we would like to invite you to an online Microsoft Teams 30-minute information session that will be held on Thursday, August 10th at 1pm or 7pm.
Disaster Event Based Volunteers are defined below:
· Have had no recent Red Cross affiliation.
· Live within 50 miles of the disaster-affected area (as determined by the disaster operation).
· Approach the Red Cross seeking opportunities to serve the community after a disaster.
Our DEBV Volunteers are crucial in helping the community recover following a large-scale disaster.
In addition, the role of our DEBV Management Team Members is equally as important to help our team manage the influx of community members and organizations who want to help our community recover as soon as possible. Roles available as part of the DEBV Management Team are:
· DEBV Volunteer Coordinator/Recruiter/Engager and Scheduler
· Volunteer Intake Center Site Supervisor/Screener and Scheduler
If any of these short-term, disaster based, very important volunteer roles interest you please join us at one of our two online information sessions being offered on Thursday, August 10th at 1 pm and 7 pm.
Please send us an email at scvolservices@redcross.org or call us at 843-901-1586 to reserve a spot in one of the two information sessions.
Thank you,
