FLORENCE/MYRTLE BEACH, APR. 2, 2026 — The American Red Cross recognizes SONOCO, headquartered in Hartsville, South Carolina, for its pledge of $100,000 supporting disaster relief. With this commitment, SONOCO joins the Red Cross Ready 365 Giving Circle and helps ensure the organization is prepared to meet the needs of people affected by disasters big and small across the U.S.
The Red Cross responds to more than 60,000 disasters across the country every year, providing relief, comfort and hope to people during what can be the worst days of their lives. As large disasters like wildfires, tornados and hurricanes increase in frequency and intensity — and home fires continue to strike year-round — generous donations from Ready 365 Giving Circle members help power Red Cross readiness and build response capacity in times of crisis.
“Sonoco is proud to continue our longstanding partnership with the American Red Cross in support of their vital disaster relief efforts across South Carolina. We are pleased to contribute $100,000 to help advance their mission and sustain the critical services they provide to individuals and families in times of urgent need,” said Addison Ingle, Communications and Sonoco in Action Specialist.
Donations from generous partners help enable the Red Cross to respond to disasters at a moment’s notice, offering a safe place to sleep, a hot meal, emotional support and resources to aid in recovery, while also helping prepare people and communities for disasters yet to come.
“In what has become a chronic disaster environment, donations from Ready 365 Giving Circle members are more important than ever,” said Susan Everitt, regional CEO for the American Red Cross of South Carolina. “We are extremely grateful for these donors who ensure we stand ready to help people in their darkest hours, whenever and wherever we’re needed most.”
Donations from Ready 365 Giving Circle members also support families affected by home fires — which comprise the bulk of Red Cross response efforts — and help ensure the Red Cross can continue educating people about disaster preparedness so they can cope with crises in their communities when the unthinkable happens.
