WISCONSIN (June 30, 2026) – The American Red Cross is partnering with Kwik Trip for the third consecutive year to raise funds in support of its lifesaving mission. Throughout July, all Kwik Trip and Kwik Star store locations across the Midwest will host a coin donation collection campaign. Proceeds collected in-stores, near the registers, will support the vital humanitarian work of the Red Cross.

Kwik Trip has a long-standing history of supporting the Red Cross with financial gifts, supplying food, water and volunteer support. They sponsor blood drives and help to support families in the state of Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest.

“This coin canister campaign is a simple but powerful way for the community to make a difference,” said Cat Rabenstine, CEO of the American Red Cross of Wisconsin. “We’re thankful to Kwik Trip and its customers for helping us provide support wherever it’s needed most, from emergencies to lifesaving blood services and beyond.”

The Red Cross is responding to nearly twice as many large disasters as it did a decade ago — a sign of how much more frequent and severe these emergencies have become. Each year, the Red Cross responds to approximately 60,000 disasters nationwide, most of which are home fires. In 2025 alone, the Red Cross of Wisconsin responded to 865 local disasters, providing vital relief and support to more than 4,100 people. From record-breaking floods and tornadoes to devastating home fires, it was a year that tested the resilience of thousands of families and underscored the urgent need for a strong, coordinated response. So far in 2026, Red Cross volunteers have assisted more than 1,900 people affected by about 390 home fires across Wisconsin and Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula.

Kwik Trip, Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in La Crosse, WI. The chain of convenience stores has locations throughout Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin and serves under the name Kwik Star in Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.

All Kwik Trip and Kwik Star locations will collect donations for the Red Cross throughout the month of July. No donation is too large or too small. By giving at a local store, customers can help provide critical support to people facing emergencies.
