TUCSON, Ariz. — The public is encouraged to register and join a free upcoming disaster preparedness resource fair hosted by the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross, with an emphasis on service, resilience and community.
This event is an excellent opportunity to connect with local organizations dedicated to emergency preparedness, response, and building community resilience to learn about available resources; build an emergency kit for free, including one fire extinguisher for the first 75 households; attend preparedness training; and explore volunteer opportunities. Free hot dogs, water, and snacks will be provided. Red Cross and Pima County Office of Emergency Management are among the dozens of partner agencies provide preparedness resources for homes and families.
“Preparedness starts with each of us, and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Have a plan, keep some basic supplies on hand and know where to get information when you need it. A little preparation now can go a long way when something unexpected happens,” said Sandra Espinoza, Director, Pima County Office of Emergency Management.
