TAMPA - Red Cross Angels officers for 2026-2027 were installed recently at an Installation Luncheon at Yacht Club & Country Club, where the Angel of the Year was announced.
The organization is a women’s support group for the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross. It raises funds and supplies for various programs, provides volunteers for outreach and increases awareness of the work of the American Red Cross.
New officers are Barbara Davis, president; Sylvia Pringle, vice president; Sharon Danaher, recording secretary; Nancy Watkins, corresponding secretary; and Renee Leary, treasurer. They were installed by Mike Brown, executive director of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross, who praised the organization saying, “You do so much and are so active.”
Davis told the luncheon guests, “I am truly honored and privileged to have this role. I encourage you to be involved, share your ideas and make this the best year ever.”
Outgoing president Leslie Jennewein presented the Angel of the Year Award, which honors a member for outstanding service and devotion during the year, to Joan Rhyne, the immediate past president.
“This person has been by my side for the last year,” Jennewein said, in announcing the recipient. “She took two years out of her life to be president, and she continued to be there when I needed her.”
Anne Cloar and Linda Murray were the luncheon chairs and Pringle presented a recap of the organization’s activities during the past year with photos in a power-point presentation.
