The American Red Cross recognizes ALDI, headquartered in Batavia, IL, for its pledge of $1,000,000. By making a donation to Red Cross Hurricane Helene Relief, ALDI helps ensure the organization is able to respond and help people impacted by Hurricane Helene.
The Red Cross is helping thousands of Hurricane Helene survivors who are coping with profound devastation. An estimated 15,000 – 20,000 homes have been destroyed throughout the South and parts of Appalachia, and millions are still without power. Across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and several more states, the Red Cross and partners like Baxter International Foundation are ensuring people have roofs over their heads, nourishing meals to eat and a caring shoulder to lean on.
“The American Red Cross, our volunteers and partners are working around the clock to deliver help and hope to those affected by Hurricane Helene, which has impacted communities across the Southeast,” said Cliff Holtz, president and CEO of the American Red Cross. “We cannot thank ALDI enough for their generous donation, which enables us to provide families with a safe place to stay, meals and comfort in the wake of this massive and destructive storm.”
The American Red Cross also recognized ALDI this summer for its pledge of $500,000 to the Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP). By making a donation to Red Cross Disaster Relief, ALDI helped ensure the organization can quickly respond to disasters big and small across the U.S. and help people in need at a moment’s notice.
The Red Cross responds to more than 65,000 disasters across the country every year, providing comfort and hope in times of crisis. As rapidly intensifying storms, extreme heat, record floods and widespread wildfires continue to devastate communities across the country, donations from ADGP members like ALDI are more important than ever to power Red Cross relief efforts for those who need it most.
Donations from ADGP members also support basic needs for families affected by home fires — which comprise the bulk of Red Cross response efforts — and help ensure the Red Cross can continue offering disaster preparedness education nationwide.
