The American Red Cross of Illinois is proud to welcome Anabel Monge as its new Communications Manager. Monge will lead communications and media relations efforts across the Illinois region.

With more than two decades of trusted journalism and storytelling experience, Monge most recently served as a news anchor at Telemundo Chicago for 10 years. Her dedication to impactful, community-centered reporting has earned her 12 Emmy Awards, underscoring her reputation as a respected voice in journalism.

Monge’s expertise in Spanish-language media and multicultural communications will strengthen the Red Cross’s efforts to connect with and serve diverse communities across Illinois. In her new role, she will help spotlight the stories of Red Cross volunteers, donors, and families impacted by the organization’s humanitarian mission.

“Anabel is a tremendous addition to the Illinois Red Cross team,” said Connie Esparza, Regional Communications Director. “Her depth of experience in journalism and multicultural communications, along with her strong community roots, will help us share the Red Cross mission with even greater impact.”

Originally from New Mexico, Monge has been a long-time Chicago resident. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, boxing, and exploring the city’s diverse neighborhoods with her husband and sister.
