The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Ross of the University of Chicago Medicine to its board of directors.
Amy Ross is the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at UChicago Medicine (UCM) where she leads the development of the enterprise’s long-term strategy and business development activities. In addition, Ross oversees the academic health system’s marketing and communications division, the Care Network Medical Group, and five key service lines: heart and vascular, digestive diseases, neurosciences, musculoskeletal, and the transplant program.
Prior to UChicago Medicine, Ross held leadership roles at various local health systems as well as in healthcare consulting at The Chartis Group and Deloitte.
Her expertise includes strategic plan development, physician alignment and network development, both clinical and non-clinical management across the care continuum including operations, quality and outcomes management, and care coordination. She also brings significant experience in ongoing enhancements to overall service line development in areas such as financial reporting, funds flow, strategy, and marketing efforts.

Amy holds a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, and is a former Carol Emmott Fellow that focuses on developing exceptional women leaders in the healthcare industry.
The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago volunteer board includes more than thirty civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds for the Greater Chicago chapter that serves 7.6 million people in four counties.
