The Red Cross of Greater Chicago is thrilled to announce that Jennifer F. Scanlon president and CEO of UL Solutions will serve as the Honorary Chair of the 23rd Annual Heroes Breakfast. Each year, this event pays tribute to extraordinary acts of courage, kindness and service that happen every day right here in our community. The Heroes Breakfast enables the Red Cross to raise critical support for our lifesaving mission and ensures the Red Cross is prepared for and responding to the ever-changing and complex crises at home, across the country, and around the world.
As Honorary Chair, Scanlon will lend her support and voice to the Heroes Breakfast, helping to bring awareness of the Heroes being honored as well as the mission of the Red Cross. As the leader of global safety science company UL Solutions, she is deeply committed to safety and brings a unique and impactful perspective, inspiring others to get involved in the mission of the Red Cross.
“I am honored to be named Honorary Chair of the 23rd Annual Heroes Breakfast,” said Scanlon. “At UL Solutions, we are driven by our mission of working for a safer world, and I am excited to be part of an event that brings so many together to celebrate people who act heroically when it matters most. I look forward to seeing the impact we can achieve with this beloved event.”
The Annual Heroes Breakfast is expected to draw over 750 attendees and will celebrate extraordinary people in 12 Heroes categories including Blood Services, Community Impact, Disaster Relief, Education, Firefighter, Global Citizenship, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Lifesaving Rescue, Military, Social Justice Impact, and Youth.
“We are incredibly grateful to have Jennifer join us as Honorary Chair,” said Catherine Rabenstine, Interim Chief Executive Offer for the Illinois Red Cross. “Her dedication and tireless efforts to make a difference reflect the values at the heart of our event.
