The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago is pleased to announce the appointment of Joyce Trimuel as the chairperson of its board of directors.
Trimuel is the Founder and CEO of Trimuel Enterprises, LLC., a business-consulting firm that specializes in developing key strategies to help women and diverse talent advance into the careers of their dreams. Trimuel also works with organizations and their leaders to expand their cultural competencies to lead all their talent more inclusively, while profitably growing their business.
Trimuel has been a Red Cross board member and a member of the Tiffany Circle, the women’s philanthropic leadership community of the Red Cross, since 2018, was included on the Insurance Business American 2019 “Hot 100” List, and formerly sat on the board of KIPP Kansas City. Trimuel is a supporter of Girls on the Run (Chicago), and previously was named to the Kansas City Business Journal’s list of “Women Who Mean Business.”
In addition to serving as a member, Trimuel has served on the Biomed Committee and as vice chair of the Philanthropy, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Board Development committees of the Red Cross of Greater Chicago board of directors working side-by-side with the region’s CEO Celena Sarillo.

With more than 25 years of experience in corporate America, Trimuel has a proven track record of success in business development, talent management, marketing, operations, human resources, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). Trimuel is passionate about curating programs and experiences that will allow her clients to bring their best authentic selves into every setting. Trimuel is an expert in developing innovative leadership development programs that address business gaps with an emphasis on leveraging the experiences and expertise of diverse talent.
“In my new role as chair, I am determined to strengthen our resilience across the Chicagoland area as we navigate more frequent and intense disasters,” said Trimuel. “I am committed to our board embracing an all-inclusive approach to our role in achieving Red Cross of Greater Chicago goals and supporting our colleagues on the frontlines of disaster response, and families across the nation struggling to cope with this humanitarian crisis of our changing climate.”
Trimuel will step into the role previously filled by Peggy Hardek of PwC who led the board for the last two years.
The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago volunteer board includes more than thirty civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds for the Greater Chicago chapter that serves 7.7 million people in 5 counties.
