The American Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas is announcing the addition of two new members to its board of directors.
Corie Forbes and Jennifer Keller join 22 fellow board members in supporting and guiding the chapter’s work to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. The Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas serves roughly 1 million residents of a 21-county area by providing disaster relief, offering preparedness education, collecting and distributing blood, teaching lifesaving skills, and supporting military families.
“I’m so proud to have Corie and Jennifer on the Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas board of directors. They join a group of fellow community leaders who have a commitment to serving their communities through the Red Cross mission,” said Shannon Wedge, Executive Director of the Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas.
ABOUT CORIE FORBES Corie Forbes was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She and her husband have been together for 20 years and have three wonderful children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Emporia State University and a master’s degree in nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene. She also has a bachelor’s in psychology from Wichita State University. Forbes has worked at Wesley Healthcare for 13 years in various capacities, predominantly in neuroscience nursing, and she has been the Associate Chief Nursing Officer for the last five years. She has been recognized among Wichita Business Journal’s Women Who Lead in Major Companies and as a Healthcare Hero. HCA Healthcare has recognized Forbes with their Excellence in Nursing Award for Professional Mentoring Hospitals of Distinction and Excellence in Nursing Award for Compassionate Care.
ABOUT JENNIFER KELLER Jennifer Keller is a native Kansan. She earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Wichita State University, and her master’s in public health emphasizing qualitative methods from the University of Kansas School of Medicine — Wichita. Keller has spent 33 years working in the field of marketing and public relations for a variety of organizations, but she enjoys nonprofit work the most. She is currently looking for her next great adventure. On a personal note, Keller got married on Valentine’s Day 32 years ago, and together, she and her husband, Derek, have raised three amazing kids.
