The Red Cross has launched a massive relief response to this devastating storm and needs financial donations to be able to provide immediate disaster relief.
ST. LOUIS, MO, August 28, 2017 — Twenty-seven volunteers from Eastern Missouri have joined the Red Cross Hurricane Harvey relief effort. More volunteers are being processed and await deployment. In addition, six local Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) have been stocked and are on the way to Texas. Another will leave tomorrow.
The American Red Cross volunteers have committed to be on the Hurricane Harvey relief response for two weeks. The Red Cross is supporting operations in Texas and Louisiana by providing shelter, meals and client casework to help thousands of people forced from their homes by flooding.
“The Red Cross is making sure people in Texas and Louisiana get the help they need,” said Regional CEO Cindy Erickson.” Our thoughts and concerns go out to everyone in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey and we are working around the clock to provide assistance to all those lives affected.”
