The best way to provide immediate relief to your neighbors facing emergency situations is through a monetary donation. Our disaster assistance programs rely heavily on the generous financial support of citizens in the Minnesota and Dakotas region. Even if you only have a few dollars to spare, your donation to American Red Cross disaster relief will make a significant difference in the lives of those facing disasters. Make a one-time donation today either online, by phone, or by mail, or set up a recurring monthly donation to make an even bigger difference.
The humanitarian work that we do at American Red Cross would not be possible without our volunteers. We have a variety of disaster relief volunteer opportunities available, as well as potential positions focused on facility management, health and safety, service to the Armed Forces, and professional specialties like photography, IT, and more. Check out our current volunteer opportunities near you in Minneapolis!

Brice Johnson is the Regional Chief Executive Officer for Minnesota and Dakotas Region of the American Red Cross. Through the power of more than 2,000 volunteers and hundreds of staff, the region serves 7.3 million people across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Douglas County (Superior) in Wisconsin, and 23 sovereign tribal nations.
Brice comes to the region from his role as Executive Director for the American Red Cross of Central Indiana and is beginning his third decade of organizational leadership in non-profit and higher education in both Europe and the United States.
In 2015, Brice witnessed firsthand how the Red Cross responds to a humanitarian crisis when more than a million individuals and families fled to Europe seeking refuge from conflict and famine. "It was a community effort; all agencies came together to help rehome our new neighbors. Watching the Red Cross at work was inspirational and left a lasting impression.”
Brice jumped at the opportunity to join the Red Cross in February 2020. During his tenure he has echoed the model he saw in Europe, coaching staff and volunteers, engaging youth and a diversity of cultures to better serve their neighbors through the work of the Red Cross.
In response to local and national large-scale disasters, Brice continues to provide leadership and a vital link between elected officials and the work of the Red Cross.
He is looking forward to leading the Minnesota and Dakotas team in building a Red Cross rooted in the communities that it serves.
Brice grew up in Oregon and attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He and his wife Katherine enjoy travel and time with their four children and two dogs.
