WATFORD CITY, N.D. (July 10, 2018) – The American Red Cross is responding to help people affected by a tornado that hit Watford City, ND.

Red Cross disaster relief workers are on scene working with emergency officials to support a shelter. Anyone displaced by this storm can go to the Watford City Civic Center located at 213 2nd Street NE in Watford City.

“Many people have lost everything so there’s a big need for housing,” explains Red Cross Executive Director Rob Stotz. “We’re looking for partners in hotels or apartment complexes willing to open their doors to people who are displaced.”

As many as 170 people may be displaced by this storm. The Red Cross is providing food, water and emergency shelter. Our teams are working closely with emergency officials in McKenzie County to assess the needs of the community and will continue to provide support as needed.
