The American Red Cross serving Central Minnesota has the great pleasure of announcing that Sharon Anderson and Angie Hillyard of Dassel, Minnesota, have received a Red Cross Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action. This certificate is given to individuals for demonstrating heroic efforts to help someone who needs lifesaving aid.
On October 12, 2023, Sharon and Angie worked together to use their lifesaving training, including CPR and AED, to help a coworker who collapsed at work. Their effort helped to restore a pulse, and then sustain their coworker until emergency responders arrived. Sharon and Angie are true heroes who were trained and ready to respond when needed most.
“We’re proud to present this recognition to Sharon and Angie,” said Linda Blackmore, executive director of the Red Cross serving central Minnesota. “Their actions exemplify the Red Cross mission to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.”
CPR, AED and other lifesaving training gives people the knowledge and skills to act when help is needed during life-threatening emergencies. The Red Cross offers a variety of online, blended (online and in-person skills session) and classroom courses. Find the right class for you at RedCross.org/mndaks.
