The American Red Cross has named Patty Brooks as the new Executive Director for the Eastern South Dakota Chapter. In her role, Brooks is responsible for working with employees, volunteers, and community partners in Eastern South Dakota to ensure the Red Cross mission is achieved. She will develop and empower local volunteer leaders, enhance community presence through key media and community partners, cultivate donor relationships, and steward the local Board of Directors.
Prior to Red Cross, Brooks’ career has included work in federal government as a state government division director, and executive director of two local non-profits – The Compass Center, formerly known as the Rape and Domestic Abuse Center, and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls. Brooks graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Patty join our team,” said Lynn Speral, CEO of the Red Cross Dakotas Region. “She comes to the Red Cross with over 25 years of experience in leadership, management, fundraising, and supervision. Her professionalism and passion for serving others will benefit our region and the communities of Eastern South Dakota.”
