90% of the humanitarian work of the Red Cross is carried out by volunteers who generously give their time to help others. Together, we can do extraordinary things. Please join us for a volunteer information session to learn how you can serve Northern Ohio communities and travel to support national Red Cross relief efforts across the country.

Every day, the Red Cross sees the heartbreak of people coping with the effects of natural disasters. Red Cross volunteers who are licensed healthcare and mental health providers show up to meet needs. We invite you to join the team as a part of the “Be One, Bring One” campaign as the need for compassionate volunteers has never been greater. To learn more about becoming a Disaster Health, Mental Health Responder or Recovery Client Care Casework Volunteer, please attend our Virtual Volunteer Information Session on Thursday, September 10^th, 2026, from 12:00-1:00 pm. Attendees will hear from Red Cross Disaster Health, Mental Health volunteer leaders about their rewarding experience in the role, qualifications needed for the position and the services provided. ✔ Disaster Action Team Specialist respond to the scene of local disasters and provide immediate assistance, including lodging assistance, food and comfort items following a home fire or other emergency.

✔ Virtual DAT Duty Officer volunteers ensure timely activation of the local Disaster Action Team.

✔ Deployment Volunteers train, are ready and travel to a national disaster relief operation assignment.

✔ Blood Donor Ambassadors & Transportation Specialist support blood donation & collections in the community.
