The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region provides service in the following main areas: disaster relief and preparedness education; assistance for military personnel, veterans and their families and health and safety courses.
"The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help our neighbors across the street, across the country, and across the world."
Many are familiar with the Red Cross aiding victims during large disaster caused by hurricanes like Katrina, Rita and Ike, but most days our disaster services staff and volunteers are busy responding to home fires. On average the region responds to six home fires per day. For large and small disasters, the Red Cross meets the immediate needs of victims by providing shelter, food, bedding, clothing and sometimes assisting with the replacement of essential medications and medical equipment.
Because we operate under an unfunded congressional mandate, we rely on financial donations and grants. Your generosity to the Red Cross allows us to continue service our communities with free disaster assistance when and where the need is greatest.
If you have experienced a home fire or other emergency and need immediate assistance, please call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
For information on CPR/First Aid or similar training, please call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
If you need to initiate an emergency communication message for a member of the military please call 1-877-272-7337.
