The Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters a year, the majority of which are home fires. In 2014, the Red Cross launched the Home Fire Campaign to end these tragedies and save lives.
The campaign is making a difference. Since 2014, the Red Cross and partners have installed 1,173,150 free smoke alarms and saved at least 416 lives across the country. The Texas Gulf Coast region has installed 1,293 smoke alarms this year.
Throughout the Texas Gulf Coast region, Sound the Alarm lifesaving events, would not be possible without our generous partners. Our regional title sponsor, the Houston Dynamo and event partners Sysco, HEB, Houston Apartment Association, Palais Royal, Noble Energy, Comfort Systems, Flint Hills, CentiMark, Blue Cube, Insperity and Nexen. Their generosity allows us to make our communities and families safer.
